{"id":40236,"date":"2025-10-07T10:25:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-07T08:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=40236"},"modified":"2025-10-07T11:24:30","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T09:24:30","slug":"over-40-million-ssp-collected-to-rehabilitate-roads-in-torit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/07\/over-40-million-ssp-collected-to-rehabilitate-roads-in-torit\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 40 million SSP collected to rehabilitate roads in Torit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Jacob Onuha Nelson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least 40 million South Sudan Pounds(SSP) have been collected to rehabilitate roads within Torit Town.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media over\u00a0 weekend in Torit Municipal Council, <em>Oyito Babtist Soforonio, <\/em>the mayor of Torit, said the state government have at least tried its best to collect amount of money to rehabilitate murram roads within Torit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have started our business license and this money is coming from my business communities. This is almost like something to do with the 40 to 50 million that we want to use on this road and to rehabilitate the roads in town,\u201d Oyito said.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor stated that the rehabilitation of roads in Torit town is to cover patching of potholes and labelling damaged roads in and along Torit. saying that improving roads that will advance services delivery to the citizen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course we are going to go in bits. The first phase might go a week or two weeks and then we rest. Then we also interest our communities as the contribution is ongoing,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the rehabilitation carries on specifically according to categorisation such as first phase \u2013 a rehabilitation of roads within the town as its first phase. And the second phase will go now to community into their respective residents and also make sure they also improve and rehabilitate all those roads in town.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we the government of Eastern Equatorial together with the municipal will have to use the funds from the people to deploy back to the people. It looks so promising. Today we are seeing the first phase of the rehabilitation within the ministry&#8217;s road and the roads in town and you did mention clearly that it will later move to the central areas,\u201d Oyito narrated.<\/p>\n<p>He said the project is going to work for a week then the staff will get rest for a while as ongoing contribution goes according to households in Torit municipal Council to deliver services to its citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to see that we deliver services to our people at an estimated time when you are given power to be a leader.
