The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food security, Lily Albino Akol has reaffirmed South Sudan\u2019s commitment to working collaboratively with regional and international partners.<\/p>\n

According to the press department, the remark came during the 14th African Ministerial Cooperative Conference (AMCCO) 2025 opened in Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn her opening remarks, Albino Akol reaffirmed South Sudan\u2019s strong commitment to working collaboratively with regional and international partners to strengthen cooperatives as engines of inclusive growth, resilience, and socio-economic transformation\u201d statement partly read.<\/p>\n

In the statement, the collaborative work would strengthen cooperatives as engines of inclusive growth, resilience, and socio-economic transformation.<\/p>\n

The statement underscored the conference brought together Ministers and high-level delegates from across the continent to advance Africa\u2019s cooperative development agenda.<\/p>\n

The statement stated that Albino, delivered South Sudan\u2019s national statement, outlining the country\u2019s cooperative development priorities and aspirations.<\/p>\n

It further stated Albino reiterated South Sudan\u2019s commitment to working closely with regional and international partners to strengthen cooperatives as a key pillar of socio-economic transformation and inclusive development.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the conference, the Hon. Deputy Minister signed the \u2018Nairobi Declaration for Regional Cooperative Development\u201d on behalf of the Republic of South Sudan and joined fellow Ministers\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the Cooperative Model Law\u201d, is a landmark framework aimed at enhancing cooperative governance and collaboration across the continent.<\/p>\n

The underscored she also accepted a symbolic elephant gift, representing power, unity, and endurance values that reflect the strength and resilience of South Sudan\u2019s cooperative movement.<\/p>\n

Cooperatives\u00a0in\u00a0South\u00a0Sudan\u00a0are\u00a0essential\u00a0for\u00a0fostering\u00a0economic\u00a0development\u00a0and\u00a0community\u00a0resilience.<\/p>\n

Continued\u00a0support\u00a0and\u00a0investment\u00a0in\u00a0this\u00a0sector\u00a0are\u00a0necessary\u00a0to\u00a0overcome\u00a0existing\u00a0challenges\u00a0and\u00a0maximize\u00a0their\u00a0impact\u00a0on\u00a0poverty\u00a0alleviation\u00a0and\u00a0economic\u00a0empowerment.<\/p>\n
