{"id":40424,"date":"2025-10-14T10:34:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=40424"},"modified":"2025-10-14T10:34:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T08:34:19","slug":"ces-governor-reaffirms-support-for-local-peace-initiatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/14\/ces-governor-reaffirms-support-for-local-peace-initiatives\/","title":{"rendered":"CES governor reaffirms support for local peace initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>By Lodu William Odiya<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Rabi Mujung Emmanuel has reaffirmed support for local peace initiative aimed at promoting reconciliation in the state.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by the governor\u2019s press unit, Governor Mujung emphasized that Peace is our shared responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeace is our shared responsibility; I alone cannot achieve it without collective efforts\u201d the statement partly read.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also underscored the governor further urged armed groups in Greater Yei to lay down their weapons.<\/p>\n<p>The statement underlined that Mujung\u2019s remarks came in his continued engagements with various congregations in Juba, worshipped with the congregation of St. Philip Parish, Korok on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>According to statement the governor had passed message of peace, unity and call to work together.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eit also stated Mujung called for joint efforts between the church, citizens and the government to sustain peace and stability, echoing President Salva Kiir\u2019s call for unity.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the statement stressed that the Governor likened the three to \u201ccooking stones,\u201d saying peace is incomplete without any of them.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e\u201cLet us work together. I am appealing to the church and citizens to work with the government in ensuring lasting peace for future generations\u201d the statement partly read.<\/p>\n<p>\u200efurthermore, the statement emphasized that while addressing security challenges, Mujung cited gang activities, suicide cases, and land grabbing as major issues, urging parents to discipline their children and calling for strict enforcement of land laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eIn the statement, Ven.
