The authorities in Bor County of Jonglei State have reported that at least 120 head of cattle have been recovered by the area youth in Bor from the suspected raiders on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

According to County Commissioner in Bor, the cattle were stolen in the grazing field on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Speaking to this News outlet, Hon. Samuel Ateny Pech, the Commissioner of Bor County in Jonglei State says the area youth pursued the cattle and eventually recovered them from the hand of raiders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nothing I can say, it\u2019s the congratulatory message to the Youth for having managed to return the cattle. Again, I acknowledged the support from County Leadership.\u2019\u2019 Pech said.<\/p>\n

Mr. Pech stressed that the suspected raiders are believed to be from greater Pibor administrative area, a claim that this news outlet couldn\u2019t immediately verify.<\/p>\n

He applauded the area youth but added that the stolen cattle have been returned to their rightful owners.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cattle were roaming around the town, no one was herding them because nobody knew there could be a criminal could come that near and raid the cattle. So, the cattle were recovered today at 1 PM, I thank the Youth.\u2019\u2019 he stated.<\/p>\n

Local communities between Jonglei state and greater Pibor Administrative area have been engaged in circle of revenge attacks, cattle raids and child abduction. Despite many peace conferences that have been held by the Peace Partners to end communal violence among the local communities, nothing seems to materialize.<\/p>\n

The illegal possession of firearms is a major contributing factor to the communal violence among the communities in Jonglei State and greater Pibor Administrative area.<\/p>\n

However, in the recent weeks, The South Sudan Chief of Defence Forces. Dr. Gen. Paul Nang declared the disarmament exercise targeting the armed groups.<\/p>\n

The initiative started in Bor and perhaps would proceed to other parts of state including Pibor Administrative area.<\/p>\n
