South Sudan will seek deeper economic cooperation and development support at the 7th AU\u2013EU Summit opening Monday in Luanda, Angola.<\/p>\n

In a statement from the Ministry\u2019s Communication Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said Foreign Minister Amb. Monday Semaya K. Kumba travelled to Luanda on Sunday evening, delegated by President Salva Kiir Mayardit to represent the country at the high-level gathering scheduled for 24\u201325 November 2025.<\/p>\n

The Ministry noted that South Sudan will use the Summit to push for stronger trade ties, investment partnerships, and development financing aligned with the government\u2019s economic recovery priorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Sudan views the AU\u2013EU Summit as an opportunity to unlock economic opportunities, attract European investors, and strengthen regional trade integration,\u201d noted the Ministry in a statement.<\/p>\n

The Summit, convening heads of state, foreign ministers, and senior officials from across Africa and Europe, is expected to focus on sustainable development, peace and security, and renewed cooperation frameworks between the two continents.<\/p>\n

The South Sudan delegation is expected to emphasize the importance of peace and stability as foundations for economic transformation.<\/p>\n

\u201cLasting economic growth requires peace, and South Sudan remains committed to consolidating stability and advancing dialogue at all levels,\u201d noted the Ministry.<\/p>\n

The Ministry added that the country intends to reaffirm its commitment to AU\u2013EU macroeconomic and governance reforms, including strengthening public financial management, expanding regional infrastructure connections, and supporting youth employment.<\/p>\n

\u201cRe-engaging development partners is essential for South Sudan\u2019s long-term stability and prosperity,\u201d MFA&IC.<\/p>\n

South Sudan\u2019s participation in continental and global forums has increased in recent years as Juba seeks to diversify partnerships and rebuild international confidence.<\/p>\n

The AU\u2013EU Summit provides a platform for the country to advocate for its priorities, including economic revitalization, conflict mitigation, and stronger bilateral and multilateral ties.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Kumba is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings on the margins of the Summit before returning to Juba later this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
