{"id":41648,"date":"2025-12-22T10:40:26","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T08:40:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=41648"},"modified":"2025-12-22T10:40:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T08:40:26","slug":"kiir-urges-nation-to-seek-divine-guidance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/22\/kiir-urges-nation-to-seek-divine-guidance\/","title":{"rendered":"Kiir urges Nation to seek divine guidance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Lodu William Odiya<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Salva Kiir Mayardit have urged the nation to seek divine guidance as the country grapples with the challenges that lie ahead.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued by the presidential press unit yesterday, President Kiir while addressing the national prayer Breakfast held at the Presidency in Juba on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKiir emphasised that the Prayer was not a political event, but rather a religious reflection on the renewal of our collective aspirations for a better future\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>The president had declared that the National Prayer Breakfast will be held annually on December 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Kiir recalled that South Sudan\u2019s journey to independence was achieved through unwavering sacrifice and fervent prayer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Head of State called upon all South Sudanese citizens and religious leaders from diverse backgrounds to be steadfast advocates for peace\u201d the statement partly read.<\/p>\n<p>He further urged the nation to revisit these principles and policies as we strive to overcome the challenges that confront us.<\/p>\n<p>The head of state specifically called upon those in positions of authority to serve with honesty, humility and accountability.<\/p>\n<p>The President also appealed to all religious leaders and political leaders to provide guidance and wisdom as the country endeavours to foster peace and unity.<\/p>\n<p>National prayer Breakfast to grows personal relationship with God and bonds of friendship among people and also encourages one another as friends.<\/p>\n<p>These friendships often transcend differences and opposing views on national development issues.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lodu William Odiya President Salva Kiir Mayardit have urged the nation to seek divine guidance as the country grapples with the challenges that lie ahead.
