The commissioner of Tonj South, Agany Lok Agany has appealed to his counterpart in Tonj North and East counties to double their efforts in ensuring that cattle theft is reduced.<\/p>\n

This remark followed their meeting with the traditional leaders to preempt the act of cattle theft in the county since 2025, saying the incident of cattle thefts has become minimal.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur communities have done a great role in ensuring that those who are taking other people\u2019s cattle are apprehended and handed over to the authorities, now the cases are reducing intensively,\u201d said Lok<\/p>\n

\u201cNow since December in a month we can record about 5-6 incidents of people who have gone for looting spree and we give the cows back this something appreciable\u201d he lauded his chiefs.<\/p>\n

Agany said decline in theft came as a result of the New Governor\u2019s directive in which he urged the local leaders to work for peace in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thieves are the ones fueling everything, let\u2019s fight these people terrorizing the people. I appeal to my people such as the people of Tonj North authorities to make sure that they work around the clock to bring to book those responsible for cattle raiding. In this way we can see peace being achieved in the region\u201d He stated.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Agany underscored that the directive from the new governor has given them hope in making sure that those who were violating the orders would be held accountable.<\/p>\n

Last week, the Deputy Governor of Warrap, Aluel Messi visited the scene where fighting occurred in a cattle raid incident that saw over 3000 cattle looted in Gogrial East by suspects believed to have come from Mayom county.<\/p>\n

Such acts require tough measures by the state government to ensure that violence is brought under control as the country prepares for an election, analysts say.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
