{"id":42390,"date":"2026-01-24T19:40:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T17:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=42390"},"modified":"2026-01-23T19:32:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T17:32:39","slug":"nbgs-governor-forms-committee-to-control-assets-as-unmiss-leaves-aweil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/24\/nbgs-governor-forms-committee-to-control-assets-as-unmiss-leaves-aweil\/","title":{"rendered":"NBGs Governor forms committee to control assets as UNMISS leaves Aweil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Hou Akot Hou<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Newly appointed Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state has formed a committee tasked with coordinating and receiving assets handed over to the state government by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).<br \/>\nAssortment of the assets include 20 vehicles, large generators electronic cables for power supply in Aweil Town and its suburbs.<br \/>\nAccording to the information Minister, Gabriel Deng Yel, the Governor has on Thursday morning inspected the site where UNMISS left.<br \/>\nHe noted that during the inspection, Governor was accompanied by his committee comprised of ministers such as Agriculture Minister and security agents.<br \/>\nDeng underscored they had visited the site where they have overseen all kinds of equipment such as 20 vehicles, 300 shipping containers in a big warehouse and a fuel depot.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have inspected the site but the Governor has formed a committee comprised of the ministers and the patrol forces who will be monitoring these assets have been instructed by Governor Charles\u201d said Deng.<br \/>\n\u201cOther items include the fire extinguishers and big sewage and water treatment system installed within the premise, which will help the local residents if well maintained \u201cThe minister alluded.<br \/>\nAs UNMISS officially vacated Northern Bahr El Ghazal state last week, local residents in the state had mixed feeling over the use of the equipment and the beautiful with a scenery that has lots of mango trees.<br \/>\nSome local youth suggested that it should be used for a varsity purpose.<br \/>\nDeng Peter, a local enthusiastic varsity student who wishes to study at any college within his reach in the state emphasized that the government can earmark the site for learning purpose.<br \/>\n\u201cIt would be imperative if the government uses the site as part of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state University, if all issues are taken into the consideration by the incoming Governor, then he can use it for university\u201d He suggested.<br \/>\nAs the state is grappling with lack of proper learning institutions, it was better for the government use the site for university and other learning, which had remained elusive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Hou Akot Hou The Newly appointed Governor of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state has formed a committee tasked with coordinating and receiving assets handed over to the state government by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
