{"id":42567,"date":"2026-02-04T11:20:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T09:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=42567"},"modified":"2026-02-04T11:20:32","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T09:20:32","slug":"inter-communal-violence-leaves-two-injured-in-hiyala-payam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/04\/inter-communal-violence-leaves-two-injured-in-hiyala-payam\/","title":{"rendered":"inter &#8211; communal violence leaves Two injured in Hiyala payam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Jacob Onuha Nelson<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>At least Two people were injured in an alleged renewed inter-communal violence between Haforiere Boma and Hiyala Payam of Torit County in Eastern Equatoria State.<br \/>\nIn an exclusive interview on Tuesday with Samuel Attari Kume, Sub &#8211; Chief of Haforiere Boma, confirmed the incident.<br \/>\n\u201cThe incident happened around 5: 00 a.m. The armed youth of Hiyala Payam came and attacked Haforiere on Monday however they got the community is well fenced with thorns, Attari said, \u201cthe armed youth fired a RGP ammunition to certain house and burned the house to ashes. only one person got minor injury\u201d.<br \/>\nThe Community leader said when Haforiere youth pursued assailant, both communities again clashed at River Host that led to one Hiyala youth injured while Haforiere youth overrun the attackers to their territory.<br \/>\n\u201cThey clashed nearby Host River that led to one Hiyala youth injured while following their footprint with blood. The youth pursued the footmark and reached Hiyala Payam,\u201d he stated.<br \/>\nBesides, efforts to reach Galdino Ohide, the Paramount Chief of Hiyala Payam with several calls was unsuccessful.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Pater Ikalu Aukario, the Tirangore Boma Paramount chief, condemned the incident accusing Hiyala armed youth of violating state government orders imposed during Governor Louis Lobong Lojore visit to Hiyala Payam communities.<br \/>\n\u201cI Condemned the attack in strong words, Hiyala Payam itself violate the Gubernatorial orders the state Government imposed the communities to remain at their territory during the festive season earlier 2025 till peace dialogue,\u201d Ikalu said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe state government should take note of this. Since the governor visited the four respective villages; Hiyala, Tirangore, Haforiere and Hura Hatiha, all the communities respected the state government orders yet Hiyala the headquarter of the communities started causing chaos again,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nHe urged the state government to intervene on renewed inter \u2013 communal violence, adding that it may also escalates the other communities who are loyal to the state Governments to break the orders.<br \/>\nHe accused the state government to play their crucial role in order to resolve recurring violence that does trigger the passengers traveling especially Torit \u2013 Kapoeta road in risk<br \/>\n\u201cI pray may this new year bring peace, unity and prosperity among the Hiyala bomas.
