The Mayor of Juba City Council, Christopher Sarafino Wani, has called on pedestrians and motorists to cooperate with contractors as the city embarks on an extensive road rehabilitation initiative.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued Tuesday by the Central Equatoria State Governor\u2019s Press Unit, the mayor urged citizens to support the teams tasked with repairing potholes across the capital.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Juba City Council requests that all pedestrians and motorists cooperate with the contractors to ensure the timely and efficient completion of these essential works,\u201d the statement read in part.<\/p>\n

According to the statement from the Mayor\u2019s office, the project will focus on fixing potholes along major city roads to improve safety and ensure smoother transit for motorists.<\/p>\n

Mayor Sarafino emphasized that the infrastructure drive is a key component of the state\u2019s strategic policy, specifically targeting pillar two; keeping Juba clean, green, and safe and pillar four; improving service delivery with efforts to enhance mobility.<\/p>\n

He added that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to modernize Juba\u2019s image and boost local economic activities. The mayor further underscored that construction teams will operate during night and early morning hours to minimize disruption.<\/p>\n

The project is being implemented in line with directives from Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, who instructed collaboration with the National Ministry of Roads and Bridges to embark on an extensive rehabilitation program across the capital.<\/p>\n

Juba\u2019s roads have long been plagued by potholes and poor drainage, contributing to traffic congestion, accidents, and damage to vehicles. The rehabilitation drive comes at a time when the city is experiencing rapid urban growth, with increasing pressure on infrastructure. Local businesses and commuters have often raised concerns about deteriorating road conditions, which hamper economic activity and daily mobility.<\/p>\n

By focusing on systematic repairs, the council aims not only to improve safety but also to project a modern image of the capital. The initiative is expected to complement ongoing urban development projects and reinforce the government\u2019s commitment to service delivery.<\/p>\n
