Johnson<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The South Sudan Civil Society Alliances (SSCSA) has called for urgent government action to protect civilians in Abiemnhom County of the Ruweng Administrative Area following a deadly militia attack over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media on Monday, SSCSA Deputy Chairperson Dabek Mabior said the protection of civilians must remain a top national priority amid escalating violence in parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe protection of civilians must remain a top national priority,\u201d Mabior said.<\/p>\n<p>His remarks come after a dawn attack on Sunday in Abiemnhom County that reportedly left many civilians dead. According to Stephano Wieu Mialek, Chief Administrator of the Ruweng Administrative Area, armed militia carried out the assault, resulting in significant casualties.<\/p>\n<p>Mabior condemned the targeted killings and expressed deep concern over continued fighting and deliberate attacks against innocent civilians in South Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuch acts constitute serious violations of human rights and undermine ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The civil society body called on relevant authorities to conduct prompt and impartial investigations into the incident and ensure those responsible are held accountable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call upon the relevant authorities to ensure full accountability by conducting prompt and impartial investigations and bringing those responsible to justice,\u201d Mabior added.<\/p>\n<p>He further urged the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity to take immediate measures to prevent further violence and strengthen civilian protection mechanisms across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The SSCSA reiterated its commitment to advocating for peace, justice and the safety of civilians, stressing that failure to act decisively risks undermining fragile stability efforts in the region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Chol D.
