Authorities in Jonglei State have launched a major immunization campaign aimed at improving healthcare access and protecting vulnerable communities from preventable diseases.<\/p>\n

In a press statement the Governor of Jonglei State Riek Gai Kok emphasized the importance of the partnership that exists between the state government and the MSF.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe priority of the state is to strengthen development efforts and build a resilient health system in collaboration with partners\u201d. Riek Gai kok stated<\/p>\n

He commended MSF\u2019s long-standing contributions and reaffirmed the government\u2019s readiness to support their work.<\/p>\n

During the meeting with the MSF emergency medical coordinator Dr. Jehan, the State Minister of Health, also addressed the delegation, thanking them for the important engagement.<\/p>\n

She stressed the importance of continued communication and collaboration, noting that the government\u2019s focus remains on delivering essential services to the people.<\/p>\n

She further announced that immunization campaigns would soon be rolled out in affected areas to strengthen public health.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis campaign is a critical step toward ensuring that every child, regardless of location, receives life-saving vaccines, \u201cWe are committed to working with our partners to reach even the most isolated populations.\u201d Said Dr. Jehan.<\/p>\n

Yashovardhan, accompanied by Jethro Guerina, Emergency Medical Coordinator, provided updates on MSF\u2019s operations in Chuil and Pieri, underscoring the need to expand accessibility to other underserved areas of Jonglei.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working closely with local health authorities to deliver vaccines safely and efficiently in areas that are not accessible so that all people get the necessary health care facilitates. Our goal is to reduce preventable illnesses and strengthen the overall health system in Jonglei.\u201d Jethro Guerina stated.<\/p>\n

The immunization campaign initiative is being spearheaded by the state government in partnership with M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (MSF) Holland, that is targeting thousands of children and mothers across remote and underserved areas.<\/p>\n

The campaign will involve community sensitization, and vaccination posts set up in strategic locations, including schools and health centers. Special attention will be given to areas affected by seasonal floods and displacement.<\/p>\n
