The Commissioner of Yei River County, Samuel Henry Malimbo, on Thursday received a delegation from the National Directorate Nationality, Passport and Immigration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The visit was described as a courtesy aimed at strengthening service delivery in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n During the meeting, Commissioner Malimbo welcomed the team and said their presence in Yei reflects a commitment to national duty, particularly in ensuring that citizens have access to essential identification documents.<\/span><\/p>\n He noted that the issuance of national identity cards is a critical public service that enables citizens to access government programs and participate fully in national development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He also emphasized the economic importance of the migration office, saying its services contribute to government revenue collection.<\/span><\/p>\n The Commissioner further urged the immigration authorities to seek support from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) for the construction of a new office facility, citing the need for improved infrastructure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He pledged to escalate the matter to higher authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n According to immigration officials, at least 2,500 national identity cards have been registered across the greater Yei region.
