Let us focus on development programs such as building schools, hospitals, and roads to connect all seven counties of Unity State,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Manytuil also noted that his reappointment by President Salva Kiir Mayardit came after public support and a directive to restore peace in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a resident, Mose Latjor Lony, expressed joy over the governor\u2019s return.<\/p>\n<p>He said people in the area need peace and remain committed to supporting peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need peace in our state,\u201d he said, adding that insecurity had been high during the tenure of former governor Riek Bim Top, especially amid tensions involving SPLM-IO loyalists to Riek Machar, the suspended First Vice President.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Yien Gattuor Mead\u00a0 The Governor of Unity State, Joseph Manytuil Wejang, has assured residents that there will be no more fighting across the state.
