{"id":44145,"date":"2026-04-24T17:21:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T15:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=44145"},"modified":"2026-04-24T17:21:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T15:21:18","slug":"splm-national-agenda-reaffirm-alliance-in-western-equatoria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/24\/splm-national-agenda-reaffirm-alliance-in-western-equatoria\/","title":{"rendered":"SPLM, National Agenda reaffirm alliance in Western Equatoria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By: Jackson Gaaniko <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The governor of Western Equatoria State (WES), Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa, has reaffirmed the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) commitment to strengthening its political alliance with parties under the National Agenda coalition ahead of upcoming elections.<\/p>\n<p>As the chairperson of SPLM in WES, Badagbu made the assurance on Thursday during a high-level meeting at the SPLM State Secretariat in Yambio.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting brought together senior SPLM leaders and representatives of the National Agenda, a coalition of five political parties operating within the state.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Rimbasa described the meeting as \u201cfruitful and constructive,\u201d saying it focused on enhancing cooperation and consolidating political unity between the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have had a very fruitful meeting with our brothers from the National Agenda. Today, we reaffirm our support for one another and our commitment to working together to strengthen a solid alliance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the partnership is based on shared political objectives aimed at promoting peace, unity, and development across Western Equatoria State.<\/p>\n<p>The governor further stressed that the SPLM, as the ruling party in the state, has a responsibility to deliver tangible progress in service delivery and peacebuilding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state is now under the leadership of the SPLM, and we must work hard to bring peace, unity, and prosperity so that our people can see the impact of this leadership,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, both sides agreed to establish a joint coordination committee to strengthen cooperation between the SPLM and the National Agenda coalition.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will oversee dialogue, organise regular meetings, and streamline communication between the two sides, while also guiding joint political and development initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected to hold regular engagements, including monthly meetings, to discuss political developments, election preparedness, and community cohesion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us to succeed in the elections, we must begin preparations now by strengthening our political parties, partnerships, and coalitions so that we move forward together,\u201d the governor said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Victor James Ndukpo described the meeting as a significant step toward revitalising cooperation under the governor\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n<p>He said one of the key outcomes was the decision to reconstitute and strengthen the joint coordination committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have come together as one body to strengthen our cooperation and advance messages of peace, unity, and prosperity,\u201d Ndukpo said.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides underscored the importance of unity and political cooperation as the country prepares for elections, with Governor Rimbasa reaffirming continued engagement to improve governance and the welfare of citizens in Western Equatoria State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Jackson Gaaniko The governor of Western Equatoria State (WES), Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa, has reaffirmed the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) commitment to strengthening its political alliance with parties under the National Agenda coalition ahead of upcoming elections.
