In a high-stakes dialogue intervention aimed at quelling a surge in violence along the volatile border between Central and Western Equatoria, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has dispatched a joint mediation committee to the front lines of the crisis.<\/p>\n

The delegation, led by the deputy governors of both states, moved into Rokon on Tuesday with a singular mandate to de-escalate simmering tensions and broker a lasting resolution to the cattle-related conflicts and intercommunal disputes currently ravaging the region.<\/p>\n

The committee is headed by Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu and his Western Equatoria State counterpart, Justin Joseph Marona.<\/p>\n

Their mission centers on mediating between the embattled communities of Terekeka County in Central Equatoria and those of Mundri East and West Counties in Western Equatoria, where recent clashes have threatened regional stability.<\/p>\n

This decisive action by the state government is intended to bring a permanent end to cattle-related hostilities and restore the foundation for peaceful coexistence between the neighboring states.<\/p>\n

“The committee is tasked with leading peaceful mediation, de-escalating tensions, and resolving any outstanding cattle-related conflict between the communities along the common border of the two states,” the official directive noted, marking a critical step toward security.<\/p>\n

To ensure transparency and provide a roadmap for peace, the committee is expected to engage extensively with local stakeholders, after which an official joint communiqu\u00e9 will be issued to detail the resolutions reached.<\/p>\n

Amidst these security efforts, the delegation also addressed a separate tragedy that has gripped the region.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Governor of Central Equatorial State, Justin Joseph Marona, acting on behalf of Western Equatoria Governor Badagbu Daniel and his government, utilised the mission to convey a profound gesture of solidarity following Monday\u2019s plane crash, which resulted in the deaths of 14 passengers primarily from Central Equatorial State.<\/p>\n
