{"id":44283,"date":"2026-04-30T13:34:22","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T11:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=44283"},"modified":"2026-04-30T13:34:22","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T11:34:22","slug":"inside-president-kiirs-decrees-issued-on-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/30\/inside-president-kiirs-decrees-issued-on-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Inside President Kiir&#8217;s decrees issued on Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Yiep Joseph <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Salva Kiir Mayardit has carried out a major reshuffle of top government officials, relieving and appointing senior figures across key ministries and security institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The changes were made through a series of presidential decrees read on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).<\/p>\n<p>The changes affected several ministries, diplomatic positions, and National Security Service (NSS) leadership roles, with some offices receiving immediate replacements while others remain vacant.<\/p>\n<p>Among the key changes, Ambassador James Pitia Morgan was relieved of his role as presidential envoy to the Greater Lakes Region, with no replacement announced.<\/p>\n<p>In the National Security Service (NSS), Major General Mawien Mawien Ariik was dismissed as Director General of the Internal Security Bureau, with Akec Tong Aleu reappointed to the position.<\/p>\n<p>However, he was later appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, replacing Ambassador Monday Semeya Kumba, who was removed.<\/p>\n<p>In other ministerial changes, Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk was dismissed as Minister of Trade and Industry and replaced by Dr. Labanya Margaret Mathya Ugila.<\/p>\n<p>Atong was subsequently appointed as Minister of Youth and Sports, replacing Mary Nawai Martin.<\/p>\n<p>The reshuffle also extended to the security sector. Akec Tong Aleu was relieved from his position as first undersecretary at the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs and replaced by Gregory Deng Kuac.<\/p>\n<p>Lt. Gen. John Manut Wol was relieved of his role as Deputy Director General for Administration and Finance at the NSS and replaced by Maj. Gen. Napoleon Adok Gai.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Lt. Gen.
