The reopening of the Maridi Girls Boarding School has sparked renewed hope following a visit by Senior Presidential Envoy Adut Kiir and Minister of Presidential Affairs Africano Mande. The event marked a major milestone in efforts to restore educational services in the area.<\/p>\n

Addressing stakeholders, community members, and education authorities, Adut Kiir commended their dedication to rehabilitating the institution and ensuring learning resumes in a safe, conducive environment. She described the restoration as a significant step toward rebuilding the nation\u2019s education system and empowering the next generation.<\/p>\n

Emphasising the government\u2019s continued commitment to improving access to quality education, the senior presidential envoy highlighted a special focus on increasing girls’ participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). She noted that investing in girls’ education is essential for national development and long-term stability.<\/p>\n

To support these goals, Adut Kiir announced that the government will provide incentives for teachers over the next four years. According to a statement released during the visit:<\/p>\n

“She pledged to extend further support by providing incentives to teachers for the next four years as a way to motivate staff, enhance retention, and ensure the sustainability of quality education at the institution.”<\/p>\n

Encouraging students to take full advantage of the improved learning environment, she urged them to work hard, particularly in science subjects, so that they can contribute meaningfully to the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

In recognition of her commitment and contributions toward the revival of the school, the administration block has been named in honour of Adut Kiir. School authorities described the gesture as a symbol of appreciation for her leadership and dedication to advancing education.<\/p>\n

The institution had previously faced significant challenges that disrupted learning, including infrastructure damage and resource shortages. Following the visit, education stakeholders have welcomed the renewed focus on teacher support and girls\u2019 education, expressing optimism that these initiatives will lead to improved learning outcomes across the country.<\/p>\n
