The newly appointed minister of trade and industry, Dr. Labanya Margaret Ugila, has officially assumed office, pledging to foster togetherness, strengthen cooperation, and build on the achievements of the former minister in advancing the country\u2019s economic agenda.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the handover ceremony held in the ministry, Labanya expressed gratitude to President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the trust bestowed upon her and reaffirmed her commitment to serving the nation with dedication and integrity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to take on this responsibility at such a critical time for our country\u2019s economic development. I pledge to work hand in hand with all stakeholders, the people in the office, and to promote unity, cooperation, and progress within the trade and industry sector,\u201d Margret said.<\/p>\n

She emphasised the importance of continuity, noting that the foundation laid by the former minister, Atong Kuol Manyang, would be upheld and strengthened.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will continue on the footsteps of my predecessor, ensuring that the policies and reforms initiated are carried forward to benefit our people and boost economic growth,” she added.<\/p>\n

The new leadership highlighted key priorities, including improving the business environment, supporting local industries, enhancing trade policies, and attracting investment to stimulate sustainable development.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, the outgoing minister, Atong Kuol Manyany Juuk, congratulated the new minister, expressing confidence in her ability to lead the ministry effectively.<\/p>\n

She called on staff and stakeholders to extend full cooperation to ensure a smooth transition and continued progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge all members of the ministry and our partners to give the new minister the necessary support to carry forward the work we have started,\u201d the former minister stated.<\/p>\n

Officials, staff of the ministry, and representatives from various sectors attended the event, underscoring the significance of the transition in leadership within one of the country\u2019s key economic institutions.<\/p>\n
