Over 90 children allegedly transported from Aweil to Juba for education purposes have been traced and returned to Aweil through the facilitation of the Aweil community leadership in Juba.<\/p>\n

The children were reportedly moved under an alleged scholarship arrangement linked to Stone International Church, operated by Prophet Peter AD.<\/p>\n

During the tracing process, former MP in the former 32 states, Door Geng Athiang, was arrested over allegations of involvement in the illegal collection and transportation of the children to Juba without the knowledge of state authorities and community leadership.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chairperson of the Federation of Aweil Community in Equatoria (FACE), Ajongo Akol, said the community leadership engaged security authorities after receiving information about the arrival of the children in Juba.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter we learned that Door Geng was behind the deal, and in fact he was the one bringing the children to Juba on the claim that they were to study under the responsibility of Stone International Church operated by Prophet Peter AD, we accepted his release so that he could return the children to Aweil and reunite them with their parents,\u201d Ajongo said.<\/p>\n

This week, a similar incident was reported in Aweil East County, where 245 children were allegedly registered and prepared for transportation to Juba by pastors and members linked to Stone International Church.<\/p>\n

The commissioner of Aweil East County has called on the national Ministry of Interior and security agencies to investigate the church and its leadership, particularly regarding its educational activities.<\/p>\n

Stone International Church and Prophet Peter AD have not yet issued any formal statement or responded to media inquiries regarding the allegations.<\/p>\n

Civil society organisations have also raised concerns, urging parents and guardians to exercise caution and take full responsibility for the protection of children.<\/p>\n

They emphasised that any activities not officially communicated through established government and community structures should not be considered lawful and must be reported to the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
