A family in Yambio has made an urgent appeal for humanitarian assistance after a mother survived a life-threatening delivery of triplets.<\/p>\n

While the birth is being celebrated as a miracle, the arrival of three new mouths has left the household overwhelmed as they now struggle to provide for a total of ten children.<\/p>\n

The father, Steven Rasasi, shared that while the safe delivery brought immense joy, the family\u2019s reality is quickly becoming unbearable under severe financial pressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are happy, but life is very difficult. God has given us these children, but we simply do not have the means to support them,\u201d Rasasi said.<\/p>\n

He is calling on humanitarian organisations, local leaders, and well-wishers to assist with food, clothing, and basic neonatal supplies, noting that the family’s resources are already stretched beyond their limit.<\/p>\n

The mother, Mariam Steven, narrowly escaped death following the delivery. She suffered from severe complications that required immediate medical intervention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI lost a lot of blood after the birth. I am so grateful to the doctors and the kind people who donated blood to save my life,\u201d Mariam said from her recovery bed.<\/p>\n

Health officials at Yambio State Hospital confirmed that Mariam suffered from postpartum bleeding (PPH) shortly after delivery, a leading cause of maternal mortality that requires urgent transfusions.<\/p>\n

Dr. Konjo Samuel, the hospital\u2019s medical director, noted that the emergency highlighted critical gaps in the facility’s resources, particularly regarding the blood bank.<\/p>\n

The hospital faced a shortage of stored blood during the crisis, and medical staff had to rely on immediate donations from relatives to stabilise Mariam.<\/p>\n

Dr. Konjo urged the public to participate in voluntary blood donation programs to ensure the hospital is prepared for future obstetric emergencies.<\/p>\n

The Rasasi family remains in urgent need of food aid and essential supplies for the newborns. Without external intervention, they fear for the health and well-being of their now twelve-member household.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
