{"id":44758,"date":"2026-05-19T16:52:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T14:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=44758"},"modified":"2026-05-19T16:52:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T14:52:45","slug":"azande-king-urges-citizens-to-embrace-agriculture-to-end-hunger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/19\/azande-king-urges-citizens-to-embrace-agriculture-to-end-hunger\/","title":{"rendered":"Azande King urges citizens to embrace agriculture to end hunger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Sabri Dibaco <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The King of the Azande Kingdom, Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, has called on citizens to fully embrace agriculture, saying it should become the backbone of the kingdom\u2019s development and a key path toward economic independence.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the palace while addressing the media, the monarch said farming must no longer be treated as an option but as a shared responsibility for all citizens.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that agriculture represents the identity, growth, and future transformation of the Azande Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot continue depending on foreign aid and donor support while our fertile land remains unused,\u201d the king said, urging communities to make better use of available land for productive farming.<\/p>\n<p>He encouraged residents to expand the cultivation of crops and increase tree planting, especially palm trees and coffee, which he said have strong potential to improve household incomes and strengthen the local economy.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, tree planting should become a cultural practice, particularly among young people.<\/p>\n<p>The king also cautioned against laziness, stressing that hard work is essential for progress. \u201cLaziness is uncalled for in this kingdom. We must work hard and use our land productively instead of depending on donors,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He further announced plans to launch a large-scale palm tree planting initiative aimed at boosting palm oil production in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The project is expected to promote long-term agricultural growth, create employment opportunities, and support local industrial development across different parts of the kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>The Azande region is widely known for its fertile soil and favorable climate, making agriculture one of its most important economic activities.<\/p>\n<p>However, leaders and stakeholders have repeatedly called for greater investment in farming to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>Community members welcomed the king\u2019s message, describing it as a timely call for self-reliance.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of Yambio, Mary Anibiko, praised the monarch for his vision, saying increased agricultural activity could help ensure food security for families.<\/p>\n<p>However, she noted that insecurity remains a major challenge that discourages some residents from fully investing in farming.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the king\u2019s message reflects a growing push within the kingdom toward agricultural self-reliance, food security, and reduced dependence on external support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sabri Dibaco The King of the Azande Kingdom, Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, has called on citizens to fully embrace agriculture, saying it should become the backbone of the kingdom\u2019s development and a key path toward economic independence.
