The Vice President and the Chairperson of the Service Delivery Cluster, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, have called on the people of Warrap State to abandon violence and embrace peace.<\/p>\n

The vice president made the remarks during a meeting with the Warrap State cabinet in Kuajok.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the media, VP Hussein called on the communities in the Warrap state to cease violence.<\/p>\n

He added that the government reiterated its call on citizens to support peace and stability.<\/p>\n

Addressing the cabinet, the VP stressed the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and social cohesion as South Sudan prepares for the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n

He urged local leaders and communities to work together in preventing communal violence and insecurity, which have continued to affect parts of Warrap State in recent years.<\/p>\n

He specifically appealed to residents to put down guns and resolve disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, saying sustainable peace is necessary for development and national unity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people of Warrap must reject violence and promote peaceful coexistence among communities,\u201d Hussein said.<\/p>\n

He added that security and stability remain key priorities for the national government.<\/p>\n

The Vice President encouraged residents of Warrap State to rally behind President Salva Kiir Mayardit, whom he described as the sole candidate for the presidency in the forthcoming elections.<\/p>\n

He further reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to improving service delivery and strengthening security institutions across the country.<\/p>\n

The VP said the national government remains focused on ensuring citizens have access to essential services while promoting lasting peace and stability nationwide.<\/p>\n

On his part, Warrap State Governor Bol Wek Agoth briefed the vice president on the challenges facing the state, including security concerns and the need for continued support from the national government.<\/p>\n

He expressed the state government\u2019s readiness to cooperate with national authorities in promoting peace and development.<\/p>\n

Warrap State has experienced recurring intercommunal conflicts, cattle raids, and revenge killings over the years, often leading to displacement and loss of lives.<\/p>\n

Authorities hope ongoing peace efforts and increased political engagement ahead of the elections will help reduce tensions and encourage stability in the region.<\/p>\n
