President Salva Kiir Mayardit has directed the government of Central Equatoria State to strengthen security measures and maintain peace as South Sudan approaches its anticipated national elections.<\/span><\/p>\n

The directive was issued during a meeting held at the State House on Monday, where Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony briefed the President on the prevailing security situation and the state’s level of preparedness for the electoral process.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Governor Adil, election preparations are progressing steadily across Central Equatoria, with local communities actively participating in initiatives aimed at promoting civic engagement and ensuring readiness for the upcoming polls. <\/span><\/p>\n

He said state authorities are working closely with relevant institutions to increase public awareness about the electoral process and encourage citizens to take part in activities related to voter education and election preparedness.<\/span><\/p>\n

The governor noted that maintaining a stable and secure environment remains a key priority as preparations continue. <\/span><\/p>\n

He emphasised the importance of collaboration between state authorities, community leaders, and security agencies to ensure that citizens can participate in the electoral process peacefully and without fear.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, President Kiir encouraged residents of Central Equatoria to uphold peace, unity, and social cohesion while awaiting the official electoral timetable to be announced by the National Elections Commission. <\/span><\/p>\n

He stressed that a peaceful environment is essential for the successful conduct of elections and called on communities to avoid actions that could undermine stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president also directed state authorities and security agencies to intensify efforts to preserve law and order, protect communities, and address potential security challenges that could affect the electoral process. <\/span><\/p>\n

He said security institutions have a critical responsibility to create conditions that will allow citizens to exercise their democratic rights in a safe and secure environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting comes as South Sudan continues preparations for its anticipated elections, which are expected to mark an important milestone in the country\u2019s political transition. <\/span><\/p>\n
