Businessman Mam Pal Dhuor on Monday rejected allegations that he served as an intelligence operative and communication link during the Nasir incident.<\/p>\n

He told the court that he is a businessman with no role in intelligence activities.<\/p>\n

Testifying before the court during the 85th session, Pal resumed his defense from the previous hearing and challenged evidence presented by prosecution witnesses, particularly claims linking him to communications with armed youth and military commanders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was accused of sending intelligence information, but I am not an intelligence officer. I am a businessperson,\u201d Pal told the court.<\/p>\n

The accused maintained that none of the prosecution witnesses had provided credible evidence proving that he communicated with armed groups or acted as an intelligence collector.<\/p>\n

He specifically questioned the testimony of Prosecution Witness No. 13, a digital forensic expert, whose report allegedly linked him to communications with the late Tor Gile Thoan.<\/p>\n

According to Pal, the expert claimed that on March 10, 2024, Tor Gile sent him a message requesting that he call him. However, Pal argued that records contained in the expert’s own report contradict that assertion.<\/p>\n

\u201cPage 37 of my report and the alleged call log on page 38 clearly show that I never responded to that message or any voice call,\u201d he told the court.<\/p>\n

Pal further challenged another claim in the digital expert’s report, which alleged that an unidentified person forwarded messages to him on January 4, 2025, that included Tor Gile’s phone number.<\/p>\n

The businessman denied ever receiving such a message on his Nokia HMD Global device and criticised the prosecution witness for failing to present the alleged communication before the court.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour Lordships, the expert did not disclose or show this honourable court the message that was allegedly sent by an unknown individual,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The accused insisted that he neither received nor responded to any message from Tor Gile and denied ever speaking with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not talk to Tor Gile Thoan, let alone contact him, as claimed by the expert witness, who also failed to tell the court what I supposedly discussed with Mr. Tor Gile Thoan,\u201d Dhuor testified.<\/p>\n

He also rejected allegations that he attempted to conceal communication with the late Tor Gile, telling the court that he does not possess Tor Gile’s contact information.<\/p>\n

Mam also refuted the claim that on 21\/02\/2025, he received information that government forces had moved from Wau Shuluk to Malakal and stored guns in Upper Nile University.<\/p>\n

After a lengthy presentation by the second accused, Mam Pal Dhuor, the court adjourned the session until Wednesday, June 10, when he is expected to continue his testimony and present further arguments in his defense.<\/p>\n

Dr. Machar and his co-accused face charges including murder, conspiracy, terrorism, treason, destruction of public property, and crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n

According to prosecutors, forces of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-In Opposition (SPLA-IO), allied with the White Army militia, allegedly killed 257 soldiers of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF), including commander David Majur Dak, and destroyed or seized military equipment worth approximately $58 million during the March 2025 attack on the Nasir garrison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
