The Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on residents of Terekeka County to embrace peace, unity, and social cohesion as South Sudan prepares for the December 2026 elections.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a public rally attended by community members, local leaders, and youth, Governor Adil urged citizens to work together in promoting stability and development while supporting peaceful political participation ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n

Addressing hundreds of residents gathered for the event, the governor encouraged communities to rally behind the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit and cooperate with the state government in advancing peace and development initiatives across Central Equatoria State.<\/p>\n

Governor Adil reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening security and maintaining a peaceful environment throughout the electoral period.<\/p>\n

He stressed the importance of grassroots mobilisation and community engagement to ensure inclusive and peaceful elections.<\/p>\n

“We must remain united and work together to safeguard peace and stability as the country prepares for the elections,” he told the gathering.<\/p>\n

On interstate relations, the governor revealed that authorities in Central Equatoria, Western Equatoria, and Lakes State are engaged in dialogue aimed at resolving border-related concerns through peaceful means.<\/p>\n

He urged members of the Mundari community to avoid taking the law into their own hands whenever disputes arise and instead seek solutions through established legal and traditional mechanisms.<\/p>\n

Governor Adil also highlighted the role of culture and sports in strengthening relationships among communities.<\/p>\n

He pointed to traditional wrestling competitions involving the Mundari people and neighboring communities from Lakes State as a positive platform for promoting friendship, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n

To support local sports development, the governor pledged three motorcycles and three million South Sudanese pounds to facilitate wrestling activities in Terekeka County.<\/p>\n

The announcement was welcomed by participants, who described sports as an important avenue for youth engagement and community interaction.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Terekeka County Commissioner Emmanuel Laku appealed to the Mundari clans, political leaders, and intellectuals to remain united and work collectively for the progress of the county.<\/p>\n

He said cooperation among community members is essential for maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The rally also carried a strong message to young people, encouraging them to reject violence and resist manipulation that could fuel conflict within communities.<\/p>\n

Leaders urged youth to become ambassadors of peace and contribute positively to local development efforts.<\/p>\n

The event concluded with traditional wrestling matches, one of the highlights of the gathering.
