He was 102 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the burial ceremony in Nyori Clan, Lasu Payam, Yei River County, the Commissioner of Yei River County, Hon. Samuel Henry Malimbo, described the late elder as a source of wisdom whose life and experience benefited generations of people in South Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eMalimbo urged residents, particularly young people, to draw lessons from the elder&#8217;s commitment to community service, unity, and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe also called on the youth of Lasu Payam to reject violence and work together to promote peace, development, and improved social services in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe Paramount Chief of Yei River County, Joseph Brown, extended condolences to the bereaved family and encouraged them to find comfort in faith during the difficult period.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe also advised young people to avoid criminal activities and embrace values that contribute to long and meaningful lives, noting the late elder&#8217;s role in supporting peace initiatives and community development over many years.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e<\/p>\n<p>\u200eFamily members recalled Lukadi&#8217;s struggle with illness in his final years. Boya Suzan, a granddaughter of the deceased, said he had been battling complications related to a stroke for an extended period.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eShe recounted receiving a request from him while she was in Juba to send milk, which became one of the few things he was able to consume during his final days.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eCommunity members described Lukadi as one of the county&#8217;s most respected elders, known for serving people without discrimination and for promoting unity among different communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eReligious leaders who attended the funeral said Lukadi sought spiritual guidance in the final stages of his life. According to church representatives, he received baptism and prayers shortly before his death after requesting the presence of a priest, reflecting his desire for spiritual reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe funeral was attended by county officials, state government representatives, traditional leaders, security personnel, religious leaders, and members of the wider Lasu community.
