Police in Twic County, Warrap State, have launched a manhunt for a 35-year-old man accused of killing his mother before fleeing the scene over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday in Turalei Payam. Authorities say the suspect allegedly struck his 55-year-old mother, identified as Alueth Mayen, on the head with a blunt object before escaping.<\/p>\n

Deputy Police Inspector Col. Joseph Mayen confirmed that the suspect, identified as Lual Riing Chol, remains at large and that investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the killing.<\/p>\n

“What happened on Saturday is that the suspect struck his mother, Alueth Mayen, aged 55, with a weapon. The reason behind the killing is not yet clear,” Col. Mayen said.<\/p>\n

He added that police officers are working around the clock to locate and arrest the suspect.<\/p>\n

“As of now, we are working tirelessly to bring him to justice. Nobody really knows what caused him to kill his own mother, but law enforcement officers have been notified, and the search is continuing,” he said.<\/p>\n

Col. Mayen appealed to members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.<\/p>\n

The killing comes amid growing concerns over recurring violent incidents in parts of Warrap State.<\/p>\n

Last week, two young men were shot dead while sleeping outside their homes in Wuntiim Village of Gogrial East County. Police say no arrests have been made and investigations into the attack are continuing.<\/p>\n

Deputy Police Investigator Thiik Agoth of Gogrial East said the shooting occurred on Sunday and that no individual or group has claimed responsibility.<\/p>\n

Security analysts have linked some of the recent killings in the region to revenge attacks stemming from long-standing inter-communal conflicts.<\/p>\n

Although both state and national authorities have introduced measures, including declaring a state of emergency and deploying additional security forces, violence continues to pose a serious challenge in parts of Warrap State.<\/p>\n

Authorities say investigations into both incidents are ongoing and have urged communities to support law enforcement efforts to improve security and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
