Upon the appointment of Governor Major General Madhang Majok Meen, people were very happy, believing that he would pick up from where the former governor, General Rin Tueny Mabor, left the state of affairs.<\/p>\n

General Rin Tueny displayed all the security resources, including armoured vehicles and all other necessary equipment, when he handed over leadership to the current governor, Major General Madhang Majok.<\/p>\n

The current state of insecurity has raised alarm among the citizens of Lakes State. Lakes State is located in the center of South Sudan, which is why we are so concerned about its security; the security of Lakes State is also the security of South Sudan.<\/p>\n

The people of Lakes State were delighted when Governor Madhang stated that his agenda was to drive development. However, this raises questions when some incidents occur, because there is no development without proper security.<\/p>\n

We must remember that we are heading for elections in December, and if Lakes State is not stable, then that will put everything into question.<\/p>\n

There have been incidents that have occurred since the appointment of our governor, Gen. Madhang Majok. First, the killing of the son of Dut Mayindi occurred during his early days in office, yet no action was taken by the governor regarding that incident.<\/p>\n

Second, the raiding of four cows at night in Makol John, Rumbek Center, was another issue that has brought fear to Rumbek. Another concern is random shootings at night in Rumbek town by unknown people, and still, no action has been taken by our governor.<\/p>\n

Besides, the killing of the son of Chief Muorwel Nyot is one of the most serious issues, as it has provoked tension between Rumbek North, Rumbek East, and Rumbek Center.<\/p>\n

Another incident is the Boor and Joth clash, which claimed three lives. This fight involved the Ajiek and Tiek communities, and again, no action was taken by the state authorities.<\/p>\n

All of these happened in the presence of our governor, Madhang Majok, yet we have not heard or seen any of those murderers brought to justice or sentenced to death, in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n

There was also a new issue raised by the former minister of the defunct Gok State, Hon. Samuel Wel Machiek.<\/p>\n

According to his statement during the Thanksgiving event for the governor of Lakes State held in Mayath Payam, Chueibet County, he told the governor, Madhang Majok, that land grabbing in Lakes State needs to be addressed.<\/p>\n

He gave the example of Chuei Arol in Mayom Payam, Rumbek Center, claiming that the land belongs to Abiriu Payam. All of this was said in the governor’s presence in Chueibet.<\/p>\n

I am aware of the mentality of our people. Whenever one speaks the truth, the issues of power sharing in Lakes State mislead people into avoiding the truth. This is an issue of security; it is not personal, nor is it about tribalism.<\/p>\n

On this note, my opinion concerning your administration in Lakes State is not a lobby for you to be removed from power.<\/p>\n
