{"id":45726,"date":"2026-06-29T14:29:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T12:29:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=45726"},"modified":"2026-06-29T16:22:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T14:22:20","slug":"azande-women-welfare-endorses-empowerment-programs-for-women-and-girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/29\/azande-women-welfare-endorses-empowerment-programs-for-women-and-girls\/","title":{"rendered":"Azande Women Welfare endorses empowerment programs for women and girls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Sabri Dibaco <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of the Azande Women Welfare Organisation have endorsed a series of programs aimed at strengthening women\u2019s economic empowerment, leadership, and community engagement during the organisation\u2019s Annual General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The resolutions, adopted at the general assembly meeting, include vocational skills training for women, the organisation of a women\u2019s conference, sports activities to promote social cohesion, and participation in the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the resolutions, Executive Director Eliza Isaiah Paul said the programs were designed to address challenges facing women while creating opportunities for greater participation in community development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vocational training program will equip women with practical skills to improve their livelihoods, while the women\u2019s conference will provide a platform to discuss issues affecting our community and identify practical solutions,\u201d Eliza said.<\/p>\n<p>She said the organisation also intends to use sports to strengthen unity among women and young people and to take part in the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign to raise awareness about violence against women and girls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGender-based violence remains a concern in our communities. Through the 16 Days of Activism, we want to contribute to awareness, prevention, and advocacy for the protection of women and girls,\u201d Eliza added.<\/p>\n<p>The assembly also discussed the need to expand grassroots participation and improve coordination among members as the organisation implements the newly approved activities.<\/p>\n<p>Participants welcomed the resolutions and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the programs through active participation and community outreach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese plans will only succeed if members remain united and involved. We are committed to working together to ensure that women across our community benefit from these initiatives,\u201d one participant who didn\u2019t want to be identified told the assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Another delegate said members had agreed to play a greater role in mobilising women at the local level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur responsibility now is to take these resolutions back to our communities, encourage participation and ensure that women have access to the opportunities being created,\u201d the participant said.<\/p>\n<p>The Annual General Assembly concluded with members pledging to strengthen cooperation across all zones and work collectively to implement the organisation\u2019s priorities in the months ahead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sabri Dibaco Members of the Azande Women Welfare Organisation have endorsed a series of programs aimed at strengthening women\u2019s economic empowerment, leadership, and community engagement during the organisation\u2019s Annual General Assembly.
