{"id":45737,"date":"2026-06-29T15:37:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T13:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=45737"},"modified":"2026-06-29T15:37:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T13:37:23","slug":"yei-river-county-mourns-dedicated-revenue-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/29\/yei-river-county-mourns-dedicated-revenue-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Yei River County mourns dedicated revenue officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By James Innocent<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u200eAuthorities of Yei River County in Central Equatoria State, religious leaders, government officials, and thousands of mourners gathered to mourn the dedicated officer.<\/p>\n<p>In an event conducted on Saturday, Yei residents paid their final respects to the late county administrative officer and head of revenue, Eunice Araba Na Fox, who passed away on the night of 25 June 2026 at Yei Civil Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe late Eunice Araba Na Fox was remembered as a committed public servant and devoted Christian who served both the government and the church with loyalty, humility, and dedication throughout her career.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe Commissioner of Yei River County, Samuel Henry Malimbo, accompanied by county administrative officials and staff members, joined mourners during the burial ceremony held along the Maridi Road, approximately two kilometres west of Yei Town.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eIn his condolence message, Commissioner Malimbo described the late revenue officer as a hardworking and trustworthy civil servant whose contribution to local administration and revenue management had greatly benefited the county.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e&#8221;Yei River County has lost a dedicated officer, a faithful servant of the people, and a woman of integrity who carried out her duties with commitment and professionalism.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHer service to government institutions and the community will always be remembered,&#8221; the Commissioner said.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e\u200eHe extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, friends, colleagues, and members of the church, praying that they find strength and comfort during the difficult period of mourning.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThousands of community members, government officials, church leaders, and friends attended the funeral service and burial ceremony, reflecting the impact the late officer had on the lives of many people across Yei River County.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eEunice Araba Na Fox was laid to rest on Saturday, 27 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eDuring the funeral service, the Bishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS) Diocese of Yei, Levi Marandulu Yopete, called upon mourners to embrace repentance and focus on spiritual values rather than material possessions, which he said hold no value after death.<\/p>\n<p>The bishop noted that the late administrative officer had completed her mission on earth and dedicated her life to serving both Christ and the people of Yei.<\/p>\n<p>\u200e&#8221;She has done her part and has gone to rest with the Lord.
