\u200eLeaders of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Yei River County have called for greater unity, stronger party identity, and increased investment in agriculture as the party prepares for the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n

\u200eThe appeal was made during a one-day coordination meeting that brought together SPLM leadership from the county and the five payams to discuss party organisation, mobilisation, and challenges affecting members.<\/p>\n

\u200eSpeaking at the meeting, the SPLM Chairperson for Yei River County, Comrade Samuel Henry Malimbo, urged party members to remain united, committed, and focused on activities that promote self-reliance, particularly agriculture.<\/p>\n

\u200eHe encouraged members to invest in agricultural production while awaiting additional support from the party’s higher leadership. Malimbo also commended SPLM leaders from all five payams for their continued efforts in recruiting and mobilising new members, emphasising that unity and development remain essential to achieving the party’s objectives.<\/p>\n

\u200eThe SPLM County Secretary, Ale Satimon, said Yei River County hosts a large number of SPLM members who require greater support, including party identity materials such as T-shirts and other forms of motivation.<\/p>\n

\u200eHe appealed to the party’s senior leadership to address the challenges facing members and reaffirmed the county branch’s readiness for the 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n

\u200eSatimon also said the county was prepared to receive the SPLM Chairperson for Central Equatoria State, Comrade Emmanuel Adil Antony, during his anticipated visit to Yei.<\/p>\n

\u200eRepresentatives from the five payams reported that membership mobilisation continues but noted that limited transport and inadequate party identity materials need to be addressed.<\/p>\n

\u200eAlso addressing the meeting, Comrade Emmanuel Batali Lowila, a member of the SPLM Liberation Council, encouraged party members to prioritise agriculture as a pathway to economic empowerment.<\/p>\n

\u200eThe meeting concluded with renewed commitments from county and payam leaders to strengthen party structures, promote unity, and expand grassroots mobilisation ahead of the country’s planned 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
