The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Central Equatoria State has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening party unity and enhancing grassroots mobilisation.<\/p>\n

The party aimed to accelerate membership registration as part of preparations for the December 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n

The resolutions were reached during the Central Equatoria State SPLM Expanded Leadership Summit held in Juba.<\/p>\n

During the gathering, the party leaders urged members to intensify mobilisation efforts and strengthen party structures from the Boma to the state level.<\/p>\n

Opening the summit, SPLM First Deputy Chairperson Prof. James Wani Igga delivered a lecture on mobilisation strategies and party discipline, emphasising the importance of building a united and well-organised party capable of engaging supporters effectively ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n

He called on the members to strengthen unity as the country enter elections.<\/p>\n

SPLM Second Deputy Chairperson Mary Apayi and the Secretary for Political and Mobilisation Affairs, Amb. John Andurga, called for greater consistency, discipline, and active participation in the nationwide membership registration exercise being spearheaded by the SPLM National Secretariat.<\/p>\n

They urged Central Equatoria to take a leading role in expanding the party’s membership base.<\/p>\n

Central Equatoria State governor and SPLM Chairperson Emmanuel Adil Anthony said the summit was convened to implement resolutions adopted during the SPLM National Leadership Meeting held from 2 to 7 July 2026.<\/p>\n

According to Adil, the meeting identified four key priorities: mass mobilisation, recruitment of new members, resource mobilisation, and strengthening the party’s preparedness for the general elections.<\/p>\n

He also announced that the National Leadership unanimously endorsed SPLM Chairperson and President Salva Kiir Mayardit as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2026 elections, describing the decision as a reflection of the party’s confidence in his leadership and commitment to peace, stability, and national unity.<\/p>\n

Adil further outlined directives from the party leadership, including intensified grassroots mobilisation, the reorganisation of party structures across all levels, and adherence to established internal procedures in selecting candidates for elective positions.<\/p>\n

He stressed that nominations would be processed through official party structures rather than community-based recommendations.<\/p>\n

The governor added that new membership registration books would soon be distributed to facilitate the compilation of a credible party register and urged members to uphold the SPLM Code of Conduct as preparations for the elections gather momentum.<\/p>\n

The summit concluded with a renewed call for SPLM leaders across Central Equatoria State to lead by example, strengthen party cohesion, and work collectively toward achieving the party’s objectives in the December 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by members of the SPLM Liberation Council in Central Equatoria State, national and state parliamentary caucuses, executive caucuses, assistant secretaries, state directors, county chairpersons, county secretaries, and representatives of the party’s various leagues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
