President Salva Kiir Mayardit officially inaugurated the new Terminal Three at Juba International Airport.<\/p>\n

The head of state described the facility as a milestone in South Sudan\u2019s efforts to modernise its aviation sector, strengthen infrastructure, and improve connectivity with the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

According to a press statement from the Office of the President, the inauguration was held under the theme \u201cA New Era of Safe, Secure, and Sustainable Air Transport for All.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new terminal is expected to enhance passenger services and bring the country\u2019s main international gateway closer to international aviation standards.<\/p>\n

President Kiir said the commissioning of Terminal Three demonstrates the government\u2019s commitment to investing in strategic infrastructure that supports economic growth, facilitates trade and tourism, and improves transport services for citizens and international visitors.<\/p>\n

The Office of the President said the terminal represents one of the most significant upgrades to Juba International Airport since South Sudan gained independence in 2011.<\/p>\n

The facility has been designed to provide safer, more secure, and more efficient passenger handling while accommodating the country\u2019s growing air transport needs.<\/p>\n

The government believes the new terminal will improve the travel experience for passengers by offering modern airport facilities that comply with global aviation requirements.<\/p>\n

The inauguration also reflects South Sudan\u2019s broader ambition to strengthen regional and international connectivity through improved transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Officials say the investment is expected to support economic development by facilitating business travel, attracting investment, and enhancing the country’s integration into regional and global markets.<\/p>\n

The government reaffirmed its commitment to continuing investments in infrastructure as part of its national development agenda aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth and improving public services.<\/p>\n

Juba International Airport is South Sudan\u2019s busiest and most important airport, serving as the country\u2019s primary gateway for international and domestic air travel. Since independence in 2011, the airport has handled increasing numbers of passengers despite operating with limited infrastructure and facilities.<\/p>\n

Over the years, the government has prioritised the modernisation of transport infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and airports, as part of broader efforts to improve economic development and regional integration.<\/p>\n

The construction of Terminal Three forms part of these modernisation initiatives and is intended to enhance passenger safety, security, and operational efficiency while aligning the airport with international aviation standards.<\/p>\n
