Sarah Nyanath Elijah Yong, described the inscription as a defining moment in the country&#8217;s history and a victory not only for South Sudan but also for Africa and the international conservation community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a victory for South Sudan. This is a victory for Africa. This is a victory for the conservation of our shared global heritage,&#8221; the minister said.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that the inscription recognises the Outstanding Universal Value of the Boma\u2013Badingilo Migratory Landscape, which is home to one of the world&#8217;s largest terrestrial wildlife migrations and one of humanity&#8217;s most remarkable natural treasures.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said the recognition reflects South Sudan&#8217;s commitment to safeguarding its biodiversity, conserving its rich natural heritage, empowering local communities, and contributing to global conservation efforts.<\/p>\n<p>She expressed gratitude to President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the government of South Sudan, UNESCO, the World Heritage Committee, conservation partners, technical experts, local communities, traditional leaders, and development partners whose collective efforts made the historic achievement possible.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry also thanked all States Parties to the World Heritage Convention and members of the World Heritage Committee for supporting South Sudan&#8217;s nomination and welcoming the country into the World Heritage family.<\/p>\n<p>Hon.
