A 35-year-old man was found dead following a domestic incident in the Achol-Theen residential area of Rumbek Town, Lakes State, police have confirmed.<\/p>\n

According to Lakes State Police spokesperson Elijah Mabor Makuac, the incident began when the man allegedly attacked his wife, leaving her with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

The woman managed to seek help from neighbours, who alerted police and arranged for her to be taken to Rumbek State Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

Police later found the man dead near the family home. Authorities have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n

Makuac said the injured woman remains under medical care and may provide further information once her condition improves.<\/p>\n

He urged members of the public to seek support from family, friends, community leaders, or relevant authorities when facing personal or family challenges instead of resorting to violence.<\/p>\n

Daniel Laat Kon, Lakes State coordinator of the Community Empowerment for Progress Organisation (CEPO), described the incident as tragic and called for a thorough investigation.<\/p>\n

He encouraged couples experiencing conflict to seek mediation, counselling, or legal avenues to resolve disputes peacefully.<\/p>\n

Dr. Teran Madit, Medical Director of Rumbek State Hospital, confirmed that the woman was admitted with serious injuries and underwent emergency surgery. He said she responded well to treatment and is now in stable condition.<\/p>\n

The man’s body was taken to the hospital for the required postmortem examination before being released to his family for burial.<\/p>\n

Community leader Mansio Maburuk said the couple had been married for about three years and had no children.<\/p>\n

He noted that the cause of the incident has not yet been established and appealed to the public to allow investigators to complete their work.<\/p>\n
