The Civil Society Organisation Network in Eastern Equatoria State has called on the State High Election Committee to ensure civic and voter education reaches every citizen, including those living in the most remote villages, ahead of South Sudan’s 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the launch of voter education activities, the Deputy Chairperson of the Civil Society Network, Kulang Vicky, urged the election committee and all stakeholders to guarantee equal access to voter information so that every eligible citizen can participate in the electoral process.<\/p>\n

Kulang also appealed to political leaders, community members, and other stakeholders to promote dialogue, tolerance, and unity instead of division, stressing that peaceful participation is essential for a credible electoral process.<\/p>\n

She encouraged young people to actively exercise their constitutional right to vote and reject all forms of intimidation, violence, and political manipulation.<\/p>\n

“As we embark on this civic education campaign, let us remember that elections are not only about choosing leaders; they are about strengthening democracy and promoting national unity,” Kulang said.<\/p>\n

Eastern Equatoria State Governor Louis Lobong Lojore commended the State High Election Committee for swiftly launching voter education activities, describing the initiative as a crucial step towards ensuring informed participation and credible elections across the state.<\/p>\n

The launch marks the beginning of broader civic and voter education campaigns aimed at preparing citizens for South Sudan’s December 2026 general elections.<\/p>\n

State High Election Committee chairperson in Eastern Equatoria state, Abdalla Didi, underscored that the launching of the state office and the civic education in Torit mark the start of the series of activities in order to reach out and educate the citizens.<\/p>\n

Mr. Abdalla called upon all stakeholders in the respective counties and constituencies to cooperate with their team that might be going out to create a mass campaign about elections in the county side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
