Louis Lobong Lojore has directed security authorities in Kapoeta East County to strengthen vigilance and coordination following reports of livestock theft and highway robberies.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Lobong received the security briefing during a stopover in Narus while travelling to Soroti City in Uganda, through Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Governor\u2019s Office, the Kapoeta East Commissioner said the overall security situation in the county remained generally calm, although isolated incidents of livestock theft and highway robbery have been reported.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner said suspected Turkana criminals had crossed into South Sudan and stolen goats, with some of the animals later recovered.<\/p>\n<p>He also reported cases of highway robberies targeting commuters and motorcycle riders along some routes in the county.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Governor Lobong urged county security organs to maintain a high level of alertness, strengthen coordination, and respond quickly to emerging threats.<\/p>\n<p>The governor emphasised preventive measures, continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas, and closer cooperation among security agencies to protect civilians, travellers and their property.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Lobong is travelling to Soroti City at the invitation of Ateker leaders to attend the closing ceremony of the Ateker Cup of Nations on 22 August.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ijoo Bosco Eastern Equatoria State Governor Gen.
