Members of Pomoju Boma in Juba have installed new community chiefs to oversee the affairs of their people and strengthen unity, leadership, and cooperation among community members living in the capital, Juba.<\/p>\n

The new leadership was installed on Saturday, August 22, 2026, during a ceremony held in Gumbo Sherikat, Juba.<\/p>\n

Mono Moses Samson was installed as the new chief of Pomoju Boma in Juba, while Chief Hellen Joseph Kenyi was appointed as his assistant.<\/p>\n

The two leaders were selected to represent the interests of Pomoju Boma members living in Juba and address issues affecting the community.<\/p>\n

Pomoju Boma is one of the Bomas in Kangapo 1 Payam of Kajo-Keji County, Central Equatoria State (CES).<\/p>\n

Speaking during the ceremony, Chief Mono Moses Samson pledged to work closely with community members and help address challenges facing the Pomoju community.<\/p>\n

He urged community members to embrace love and unity, saying people can only support and develop one another when they care for each other.<\/p>\n

Chief Mono warned that hatred could lead to conflict, separation, and division, which he said would make the community suffer.<\/p>\n

He called on the community to \u201c<\/strong>choose love over hate,”\u00a0stressing that unity would make it easier for the people to solve their problems together.<\/p>\n

The newly installed chief also appealed to the youth of Pomoju to join the Pomoju Community Association (PCA), saying the organisation provides an opportunity for people to love, support, and strengthen one another.<\/p>\n

He further urged young people to stay away from alcohol-related associations and groups he described as destructive, encouraging them instead to participate in activities that contribute positively to the community.<\/p>\n

Also speaking after installing the new chiefs, Guest of Honour, Chief Gabriel Mogga urged traditional leaders to stand firm with their people and provide strong leadership based on cultural values and community interests.<\/p>\n

Chief Mogga said chiefs should put God first, followed by their people and the soil of their villages, emphasising the importance of remaining connected to their communities and ancestral heritage.<\/p>\n

He also raised the issue of bride price and dowry among the Kuku people, calling for a common standard that follows ancestral history and cultural practices.<\/p>\n

He said different clans should not charge different amounts and noted that chiefs are working to address the differences and find a solution to the issue.<\/p>\n

Chief Mogga thanked the people of Pomoju for choosing their new leaders and encouraged them to support the chiefs as they begin their responsibilities.<\/p>\n

The installation of the new leadership is expected to strengthen the representation of Pomoju Boma members in Juba and provide a platform for addressing community concerns, promoting unity, and preserving cultural values.<\/p>\n

The ceremony brought together members of the Pomoju community and provided an opportunity for traditional leaders to call for stronger cooperation and peaceful coexistence among their people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
