The governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has reshuffled the state legislative council.<\/p>\n

In a gubernatorial decree that was released on Thursday, Adil conveyed best wishes to the newly appointed councillor for the new assignment.<\/p>\n

\u201cPursuant to the provisions of Article 99 sub-article (2) (a) of the Transitional Constitution of Central Equatoria State, 2012 (as amended), the Governor has issued this decree as hereunder by relieving Councillor Keji Victoria Yasmin and appointing Councillor Marlin Malia Joseph Pitia,” the decree partly read.<\/p>\n

He further extended his congratulations to Tom Sebit on his appointment as his adviser on local government and traditional authority during his swearing-in.<\/p>\n

Governor Adil underscored the imperative of bolstering grassroots structures to underpin peace, security, and effective governance throughout the state.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the significance of this new position in fostering greater coordination among the state government, local government institutions, and traditional leaders.<\/p>\n

He urged Sebit to collaborate closely with communities and relevant authorities to address local challenges and support the government’s initiatives to promote peace and stability.<\/p>\n

In response to his appointment, Tom Sebit conveyed his gratitude to Governor Adil for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him and committed to providing all support to the governor in executing his duties, the statement said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Tom Sebit noted that his recent tour of the state provided him with direct insights into the challenges facing local government and traditional leadership, thereby reinforcing the need to strengthen grassroots governance frameworks.<\/p>\n

He also articulated that local authorities and traditional leaders serve as the eyes and ears of their communities, playing a critical role in maintaining peace, mediating disputes, and addressing the needs of the populace.<\/p>\n

He pledged to collaborate with the governor to organise and reinforce local government structures, expand their responsibilities, and contribute to the overall peace and development of Central Equatoria State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
