{"id":47563,"date":"2026-09-06T15:59:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T13:59:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/?p=47563"},"modified":"2026-09-06T15:59:36","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T13:59:36","slug":"support-partner-assesses-read-project-in-yambio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onecitizendaily.com\/index.php\/2026\/09\/06\/support-partner-assesses-read-project-in-yambio\/","title":{"rendered":"Support partner assesses READ Project in Yambio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Innocent Bidal Emmanuel <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The READ Project is implemented by Star Trust Organisation, with support from development partners and the Western Equatoria State Government.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit to Yambio, the delegation toured agricultural production sites, cooperatives, and savings and credit groups to assess the project\u2019s progress and impact.<\/p>\n<p>UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Sheila Ngatia said the project is helping farmers move from subsistence farming towards agriculture as a business, creating opportunities for income and jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Almadi, Head of the Institutions and Cooperative Department at the Cooperative Bank of South Sudan, said the bank is supporting farmers and cooperatives through improved access to financial services.<\/p>\n<p>The Western Equatoria State Minister of Agriculture, Nagamoro Brigade, urged farmers to increase production, invest in agriculture, and add value to their produce.<\/p>\n<p>State Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, Yona Robert Mark, commended the project for supporting rural producers, particularly women and youth.<\/p>\n<p>Tagun Stev, Executive Director of STO, said the organisation is implementing the READ Project and providing capacity-building support to rural enterprises and communities.<\/p>\n<p>The visit comes amid relative peace and stability in Western Equatoria, which has created a conducive environment for agriculture and development activities.<\/p>\n<p>The state government says the efforts of Governor Badagbu Daniel Rimbasa to promote peace and stability are helping create an environment for development partners to support communities and improve livelihoods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Innocent Bidal Emmanuel The READ Project is implemented by Star Trust Organisation, with support from development partners and the Western Equatoria State Government.
