Dr. Akol Paul Kordit has called on party cadres and staff to strengthen unity, discipline, and organisational capacity ahead of the December 2026 General Elections.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the cadres during a meeting on Thursday at the party secretariat, the Secretary General said members need to work to strengthen the party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe [Dr. Akol Paul Kordit] also called on party staff to overcome sectionalism, indiscipline, and gossip, stressing that every cadre and employee has a role to play in strengthening the SPLM and contributing to its success,&#8221; the statement shared by the SPLM press unit partly read.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Akol further announced that the third SPLM National Convention is expected to take place before the end of November 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He said the convention would form part of the party\u2019s preparations for the December general elections and provide an opportunity to further strengthen the movement ahead of the polls.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cde. Koung Danier and Cde. Baba Medan Konyi assured staff that their welfare remains a priority for the party leadership.<\/p>\n<p>They announced that general staff meetings will be conducted every three months to provide a platform for employees to raise concerns, discuss challenges, and work together toward practical solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Staff representatives, including Cde. Meriba Lojong, Cde. Michael, and Cde. Benjamin Ajonga also raised issues affecting employees during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe representatives reaffirmed their commitment to working collectively with the party leadership to address internal challenges and strengthen the SPLM,&#8221; the statement continued.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting comes as the ruling party steps up preparations for the December 2026 General Elections, with its leadership emphasising unity, discipline, and stronger party structures as key to its future political organisation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lodu William Odiya The Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Secretary General, Cde.
