Henry Malimbo has welcomed health authorities and stakeholders attending a one-day meeting to prepare for the distribution of medicines against blindness and elephantiasis in the county.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe meeting brought together health officials, media representatives, and other stakeholders to discuss preparations for the campaign, which is expected to begin next week following the orientation of community volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eMichael Salah from the National Ministry of Health said the program targets more than 387,962 people, with approximately 310,000 expected to benefit from the medicine distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe added that 1,500 volunteers would be involved in the campaign and would receive training before beginning their work.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eSalah said the volunteers would operate down to the village level to support the distribution of medicines and reach communities across Yei River County.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe campaign is expected to start next week after the orientation programme for the volunteers is completed.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eCommissioner Malimbo thanked the participating media houses for their role in providing accurate and balanced information to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe described the media as an important source of information for communities in Yei and praised its cooperation with the county government in sharing health information.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eMalimbo welcomed the health authorities\u2019 efforts to organise the meeting and encouraged continued cooperation among health officials, the media, and other stakeholders in raising public awareness.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eSimon Musoga, the county health director, commended Commissioner Malimbo for attending the meeting and supporting efforts to prevent blindness and elephantiasis.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eHe said the participation of the county administration reflected cooperation in addressing public health concerns.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe meeting was attended by several stakeholders from Yei River County, including representatives of media houses.<\/p>\n<p>\u200eThe upcoming campaign aims to support efforts
