South Sudan People\u2019s Defence Forces (SSPDF) Chief of Defence Forces, General Santino Deng Wol, has urged newly reassigned senior military officers to strengthen teamwork, discipline, and professionalism within the army.<\/p>\n

General Deng Wol made the remarks while briefing the senior officers at the SSPDF General Headquarters in Bilpam on September 15, according to a press released by Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, Director for Media & Press and SSPDF Spokesperson.<\/p>\n

In his keynote address, the army chief called on the senior military leadership to work together in carrying out their responsibilities and to discourage the spread of rumours within the force.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn his keynote address, the army chief emphasised on the following; urged the top cream of the military to embrace team work, discourage rumor mongering, and ascertain accurate parades for their respective units just to mention a few\u201d the statement partly read.<\/p>\n

The briefing brought together senior commanders following their reassignment within the SSPDF command structure.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lt. Gen. Koang Gatkuoth Kerjiok urged divisional commanders to establish and maintain officers\u2019 messes to improve the welfare and well-being of officers serving in their respective units.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the SSPDF Inspector General, Lt. Gen. Ashab Fahal, directed divisional commanders to encourage servicemen and servicewomen to respect civilians and promote cordial relations between the military and the communities they serve.<\/p>\n

Fahal\u2019s call highlights the importance of maintaining positive civil-military relations as soldiers carry out their duties across the country.<\/p>\n

For his part, Lt. Gen. Kiir Garang De Kuek, Commander of Ground Forces, emphasised the importance of unity of command and strict adherence to established chains of command.<\/p>\n

He reminded the senior generals that divisional commanders fall under the command of the Ground Forces branch and should follow the established military reporting structures.<\/p>\n

The briefing concluded with calls for the swift completion of taking-over and handing-over ceremonies among the newly reassigned commanders.<\/p>\n

The latest briefing comes as the SSPDF leadership continues to emphasise discipline, unity, professionalism, and respect for civilians among senior and junior personnel.<\/p>\n
