SPLM Youth League members in Northern Bahr El Ghazal have petitioned the national chairperson over alleged leadership misconduct.<\/p>\n

The petition calls for the removal of state Youth League Chairperson Andrew Deng Wieu.<\/p>\n

Twenty-five members signed the petition, raising concerns about consultation, transparency, appointments, and financial management.<\/p>\n

The members welcomed National Youth League Chairperson Puok Bol Par and his delegation to Northern Bahr El Ghazal.<\/p>\n

They said his visit could strengthen interaction and trust among party leaders and cadres.<\/p>\n

However, they alleged Wieu rarely convened meetings with Youth League executives and county chairpersons.<\/p>\n

They said important leadership priorities were therefore not adequately discussed or coordinated.<\/p>\n

The petitioners also accused Wieu of making appointments without sufficient consultation with county and state party structures.<\/p>\n

They cited Santino Akec Dhel\u2019s appointment as Secretary for County Affairs as an example.<\/p>\n

They also questioned two appointments involving cadres from the same boma.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is the diversity?\u201d the petitioners asked.<\/p>\n

The members further alleged that a UNMISS-donated container was sold for $500 without their approval.<\/p>\n

They called for an investigation into the alleged sale and management of the money.<\/p>\n

The petitioners also accused Wieu of serving as both chairperson and finance secretary.<\/p>\n

They alleged that financial records were consequently not properly maintained within the Youth League office.<\/p>\n

The members called for Wieu\u2019s suspension, investigation, or removal from office.<\/p>\n

They said new leadership could help rebuild trust among Youth League members.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, the SPLM Youth League members in NBGs, suggested that since Cde. Andrew Deng is continuing to violate our constitutional rights; he should be suspended and investigated for these acts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attempts to reach Andrew Deng Wieu for comment were unsuccessful, as his calls went unanswered.<\/p>\n

However, Santino Akec Dhel rejected the allegations and described them as politically motivated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese dudes are alleging fake things against us,\u201d Akec said.<\/p>\n

He said his appointment followed recommendations from the SPLM leadership in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.<\/p>\n

Another Youth League member who requested anonymity also dismissed the allegations. The member claimed the petitioners were seeking positions they had previously failed to secure.<\/p>\n
