The National Democratic Movement (NDM) and South Sudan National Movement for Change (SSNMC) have accused the Political Party Council (PPC) Chairperson of allegedly replacing the listed leaders of the parties.<\/p>\n

This accusation came during a joint press statement issued by the NDM, SSNMC, and FDP in what they described as \u201cfraudulent behaviour of abusing office.”<\/p>\n

\u201cAccordingly, the PPC chairperson fraudulently and dishonestly replaced the listed leaders of the NDM, SSNMC, and FDP with individuals unknown to the members who worked hard to establish those parties and paid the required council fees for registration,” they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not the first time the chairman of the PPC has gotten involved in this fraudulent behaviour of abusing office. He did so in the case of USAP when he substituted the legitimate name of the leader of the registered party with someone else,” the party added.<\/p>\n

According to the parties, the conduct contributes to a breach of trust and violation of his oath of office.<\/p>\n

The parties added that the PPC chairperson did not notify the affected parties of what they described as unilateral changes he made in the registration status, but an official order was provided to them by the PPC secretary general after they made an inquiry about the list circulating on media outlets in Juba.<\/p>\n

According to the PPC order, it granted full registration and official civilian political standing to the National Democratic Movement (NDM), the South Sudan National Movement for Change (SSNMC) and the Federal Democratic Party (FDP).<\/p>\n

Speaking after reading the press statement at NDM headquarters in Juba on Wednesday, Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, who is the NDM party\u2019s chairperson, stated that they would take legal action on the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe reserve the right to follow legal procedure to follow our rights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, SSNMC chairperson Moro Isaac Jenesio urged President Salva Kiir to intervene to solve the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are asking the security apparatus and the president to look into these matters. The registration of these parties was meant to qualify them to participate in the forthcoming election, and we agreed that the election is going to be inclusive. But now, some people technically are being barred from this election by fraudulent activities of a single person who may have been driven to bar these people out of this election,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
