Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, has tasked newly sworn-in County Commissioners and Juba City leadership to prepare citizens for peaceful and credible elections.<\/p>\n<p>The governor was speaking last Friday during the swearing-in of the six caretaker county commissioners, the caretaker mayor of Juba City Council, three caretaker deputy mayors, the caretaker coordinator of Wonduruba Administrative Payam, and the caretaker coordinator of security affairs of Juba County.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Jadallah described the day as an important occasion for Central Equatoria and said public office is a responsibility to serve the people, not a privilege for personal benefit.<\/p>\n<p>He also directed the officials to prepare the people for elections and ensure security and stability ahead of the December elections.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of your principal responsibilities is to prepare your respective counties and Juba City for the forthcoming electoral processes,&#8221; said the caretaker governor.<\/p>\n<p>He also urged the officials to practice impartiality during this period as the country prepares for elections and work with relevant electoral institutions to facilitate voter and civic education.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Your offices should remain open and impartial to all political parties, candidates, and citizens. Political differences should never become a reason for communities to turn against one another,\u201d said Governor Jadalla.<\/p>\n<p>He also outlined other priorities, including making security a collective responsibility, strengthening unity and social cohesion, and keeping Juba City safe, clean, and orderly. He appealed to the youth not to allow themselves to be used to promote violence.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the newly sworn-in Caretaker Commissioner of Juba County, Kalisto Lado, assured the Governor, on behalf of all the caretaker county commissioners, that they will carry out their duties with full responsibility to accomplish the government&#8217;s vision and mission.<\/p>\n<p>He said the new leaders understand their duty to provide security and stability for people and their properties across their respective areas, noting that security and stability remain paramount as they embark on their respective responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, the caretaker mayor of Juba City Council, Christopher Sarafino Wani Swaka, outlined the plan to maintain core duties of keeping Juba City clean, green, and secure.<\/p>\n<p>Officials at the event reaffirmed their commitment to peace and unity of purpose as championed by the leadership, while appreciating President Salva Kiir for steering the country towards credible and fair elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lodu William Odiya The Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, Gen.
