Two-armed men are on the run after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old boda-boda rider in the shoulder and fleeing with his motorcycle in Aweil Town, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred after the two suspects reportedly disguised themselves as passengers and hired the young motorcyclist to transport them to the outskirts of Aweil Town.<\/p>\n

According to the state police spokesperson, Madut Ngong Aleu, the suspects asked the rider to take them to Maduany, an area located about 30 minutes from Aweil Town.<\/p>\n

Madut said the two men attacked the rider after reaching their destination, with one of them allegedly pulling out a pistol and shooting him in the shoulder.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two-armed men disguised themselves as passengers. When the 17-year-old boy accepted their request, they reached into their pockets, pulled out a pistol, and shot the rider in the shoulder,\u201d Madut said.<\/p>\n

He said the rider became unconscious after losing a significant amount of blood, allowing the suspects to take his motorcycle and flee from the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey shot him in the shoulder, and, realising that he could not fight back, they fled with his motorcycle,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson said a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspects and called on members of the public to provide information that could assist authorities in tracking them down.<\/p>\n

Madut urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police and other local authorities.<\/p>\n

In a separate incident, police in Aweil have detained a woman following the death of a one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl who was allegedly bathed with hot water at the Gateway residential area earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Madut said the child sustained serious wounds after allegedly being exposed to hot water and was later taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.<\/p>\n

The woman, who police said is not the biological mother of the child, is currently being held at Aweil Main Police Station as investigations continue.<\/p>\n

Madut said the suspect is expected to be taken to court to answer the allegations surrounding the death of the child.<\/p>\n

Police have urged residents to cooperate with investigators and provide any information that could help establish the circumstances surrounding both incidents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
