The Ministry of General Education and Instruction in Eastern Equatoria State has launched a five-day training program for education inspectors and oversight officers to modernise school inspection through digital technology.<\/p>\n

Held in Torit town, the training brings together 26 master trainers and 13 oversight officers who will form the foundation of a cascade training program to expand digital school inspection skills across the state.<\/p>\n

State Caretaker Minister of General Education and Instruction Ibwaha Lucy Allam said the initiative would strengthen the capacity of education officials to collect, manage, and use school data more effectively while improving the monitoring of teaching and learning.<\/p>\n

Minister Ibwaha said the digital inspection system would equip inspectors with modern tools to make school inspections more efficient, timely, transparent, and evidence-based.<\/p>\n

At the opening of the training, the National Director General for Gender Equity and Inclusive Education, Easter Akumu, said the 26 master trainers would play a critical role in the next phase of the program by transferring the knowledge and skills gained during the training to other inspectors and education personnel across Eastern Equatoria.<\/p>\n

Akumu encouraged the caretaker minister to continue investing in education and to strengthen cooperation among the ministry, teachers, and education inspectors.<\/p>\n

She said the training is part of a nationwide program designed to introduce digital inspection systems across South Sudan.<\/p>\n

According to Akumu, the next phase will focus on training county-level inspectors and supervisors to ensure the digital inspection tools are adopted across all 10 states and three administrative areas.<\/p>\n

The program is targeting approximately 900 inspectors and supervisors, with the broader goal of improving efficiency, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making in education management.<\/p>\n

The 13 oversight officers taking part in the training will provide technical and supervisory support to ensure that the digital inspection process is implemented effectively and consistently.<\/p>\n

The cascade training model is expected to expand the reach of the program by creating a pool of trained personnel capable of supporting the transition from traditional paper-based inspections to digital systems.<\/p>\n

Education authorities say the move represents an important step towards strengthening accountability and improving the quality of education services in Eastern Equatoria State.<\/p>\n

The introduction of digital school inspections is also expected to provide education managers with more reliable and timely information to identify challenges, track progress, and make informed decisions about schools.<\/p>\n

With the 39 participants serving as the foundation of the cascade training model, the ministry hopes to establish a wider network of education personnel equipped to conduct effective digital inspections.<\/p>\n

The initiative is expected to contribute to improved school supervision, stronger accountability, and better planning across the education sector.<\/p>\n
