Eastern Equatoria State caretaker Minister of Information and Official Spokesperson Akileo Mboya Peter has pledged to raise issues affecting the state radio station with government leadership, urging ministry staff to strengthen teamwork and maintain service delivery despite operational challenges.<\/p>\n

Speaking during his first meeting with ministry staff, Mboya thanked employees for continuing to report to work and serve the public despite difficult working conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand the current challenges, but you continue coming to work to render the services needed. Let us continue with that spirit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The minister identified concerns surrounding the radio station’s right of way as a priority, promising to present the matter to the state leadership and the Council of Ministers for consideration.<\/p>\n

He also called for continued cooperation among staff and indicated that regular senior management and general staff meetings would be organised to improve communication and address administrative concerns.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Director of Radio and Television, Ejidio Okanyi, highlighted serious technical and logistical challenges affecting the station’s operations.<\/p>\n

Okanyi said power fluctuations had damaged the station’s transmitter and power system, leaving its batteries and solar equipment out of service.<\/p>\n

He explained that the solar power system had been installed by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) through a Quick Impact Project about eight years ago.<\/p>\n

The director said he had previously submitted an invoice in Juba outlining the cost of addressing the power problem, warning that the station urgently needed intervention to restore reliable operations.<\/p>\n

Okanyi also cited transport shortages and staff attendance as additional concerns, saying the provision of a vehicle for the radio station would help improve field reporting and coverage of official events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
